As an Assistant Professor at BITS Law School, Aafreen has a keen interest in teaching and researching on issues related to privacy, data protection, IP and constitutional rights. Since 2020, Aafreen has been working closely in the field of Internationalisation and Benchmarking of Legal Education in India. Previously, as the Assistant Director: University Engagement and Partnership at LSAC Global, Aafreen provided for strategic direction and oversight to the LSAC Global Law Alliance Members along with ensuring that the vital allies to LSAC Global work to advance the cause of promoting quality, access, and equity in the legal education space.

Currently, she is also a Ph.D. candidate in law at Jindal Global Law School, OPJGU. Previously, Aafreen has had an experience of teaching at leading law schools such as Bennett University and Shoolini University. She holds an LL.B degree from Goa University and an LL.M degree in IPR and Technology Law from Jindal Global Law School, OPJGU. For her LL.M thesis, she worked on the topic “IP Protection of Computer Software and the Copyleft Movement: An Indian Perspective.” She was awarded the Gold Medal for standing first in LL.M and the Nani A. Palkhiwala Memorial Gold Medal for academic excellence. She has also worked as a Research Assistant at Jindal Initiative on Research in IP & Competition (JIRICO), O.P. Jindal Global University. Presently, her Ph.D. focuses on the intersection between privacy law and data protection in India.

Over the years, Aafreen has emerged as an educator and mentor for law aspirants and continues to serve as an advisor to law schools and budding legal enthusiasts.
