Professor Irene Calboli specialises in Intellectual Property, Trade, and Cultural Heritage Law. She is
Regents Professor of Law at Texas A&M University School of Law and holds several honorary and visiting
appointments, including Senior Fellow at Melbourne University, Academic Fellow at the University of
Geneva, Transatlantic Technology Law Fellow at Stanford University, Visiting Professor at National Law
University, Delhi, and Distinguished Fellow at the Royal University of Law and Economics in Cambodia.
Irene is a world-renown expert in her field and is regularly invited to lecture at institutions worldwide.
She has been a visiting professor in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. In 2022, she was a Fulbright-Hanken
Distinguished Chair in Business and Economics in Finland and, in 2018, a Fulbright Specialist Scholar in
Cambodia. Irene is a distinguished and prolific scholar. She published 10 books and more than 100
articles, book chapters, and policy reports. She sits on the editorial board of several scientific journals,
including the Oxford Journal of Intellectual Property Law and Practice, the Queen Mary Journal of
Intellectual Property, and the WIPO-WTO Colloquium Papers. An elected member of the American Law
Institute, she serves in leadership roles in several professional organizations, including the Association of
American Law Schools, the International Law Association, the European Policy for Intellectual Property
Law Association, and the International Trademark Association. Irene is regularly invited to advise
national governments and international organizations on issues related to Intellectual Property and
International Trade and is currently working as an expert for the World Intellectual Property
Organization, the World Trade Organization, the U.N. International Trade Center, and the European
Union.
