We believe in bending the arc of the moral universe towards justice through new-age legal education and scholarship. Join us in our effort to galvanize future leaders and their collective consciousness to learn and appreciate the constitutional principles and rule of law.
Note: Our law programmes have been recognised and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). We have an intake of 120 and 60 students for our B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programmes respectively.
Our faculty of eminent scholars, experienced academicians, and noted practitioners bring new ideas and approaches to make a student’s learning experience engaging and memorable. They have the academic freedom to push the boundaries of knowledge.
Our mission of democratising knowledge of the law is based on an interdisciplinary and internationally benchmarked curriculum. This helps students identify patterns in their learning process, sharpen the ability to deconstruct the world around them, and challenge the status quo.
The 1,86,000+ BITS Pilani Alumni Network is one of the strongest and illustrious network of industry leaders, founders, law practitioners, and academicians in India. Our students benefit from the steadfast commitment of these professionals and their organisations to help law students excel.
This will be complemented by a robust Industry Interface & Career Advancement Office (IICAO) that will connect our students with top recruiters across law firms and corporations while perfecting their toolkit to crack interviews.
We offer an innovative and enriching mentorship programme to equip law students with industry knowledge, guide them in conventional and unconventional careers after law school, and firm their feet for roles in academia, industry, law practice, judiciary, civil society, and government bodies.
Our students benefit from everything that Mumbai stands for - a strategic hub for law firms, a centre-stage for the film and television industry, a focal point for the banking and finance industry, a nerve-centre for the media and communication industry, and a fulcrum of India’s corporate and manufacturing industry.
The campus will be home to the three premier institutions under the aegis of BITS Pilani – BITS Law School (BITSLAW), BITS School of Management (BITSoM) and BITS Design School (BITSDES). It will be home to law students from August 2024 onwards. The digital first campus has a Centre of Excellence and an Academic Building that between them house the library, a startup incubation centre, an event hall, video and podcast studios, classrooms equipped for hybrid teaching, tutorial rooms, and spaces for trans-disciplinary learning and collaboration. The fully residential campus has sports facilities, a gymnasium, and of course, the cafeteria. Spread across 63 acres, 80% of which is dedicated to lush green landscaped spaces, the campus has a zero-discharge scheme with 100% recycled water utilization, energy-saving lighting systems, and solar power to work towards a zero-carbon footprint. Once fully developed, it will accommodate 5000 students.
Designed by renowned architect, Hafeez Contractor, students will stay in stylish and comfortable on-site housing, promoting and promising a positive learning experience – a home away from home.
The BITS Pilani legacy can be traced back to the “Patshala” set up by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla in 1901. The “Patshala” transformed into a degree college and in 1964, BITS Pilani was incepted with Dr. G.D. Birla at the helm, and soon entered into a tie-up with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Rooted firmly in our shared ethos with BITS Pilani, we hope to instill in our students the passion for excellence, innovation, courage, and a “can-do attitude” to transform them into future-ready, socially-conscious, and resilient law professionals creating an impact nationally and globally.
After nearly two centuries of lawyers crafting the greatest freedom struggle in the history of the world, it is time to create a new generation of lawyers and legal thinkers who can dare to dream big and lead the change that India needs. In this mission, BITS Law School has been established by stalwarts of the education and global corporate sector.
